Nobody likes to clean bathroom tiles, plus, when you clean them, it turns into a toxic nightmare. And we’re not talking about the dirty mess stuck to the floor or the walls, but the toxic cleaning products that are typically used. The majority of common cleaning products that we use have bleach and a series of other chemical products in them. Cleaning with these makes you wish you had a gas mask while you clean since they emit such toxic fumes. But in case you didn’t know, the following alternative will make your life easier and cleaning a less toxic chore.
A natural solution to clean bathroom tile permanently
Today we offer you a natural and very economical recipe that will clean and whiten grout and tiles without releasing toxic byproducts in your face. You only need 3 ingredients:
Ingredients
- Half a cup of baking soda
- A teaspoon of organic liquid soap
- A quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide
To prepare
Mix the baking soda, liquid soap (it could be the soap you use to wash dishes) and the peroxide in a small bottle with a spray top or simply a cap. The baking soda will buff away all the stains and buildup in the water between the tiles and the hydrogen peroxide will naturally whiten and disinfect.
Tips
Apply the cleaning mixture to the tile grout that needs deep cleaning and let sit for 5-10 minutes. This will dissolve all the dirt and mold and make it easier for you to clean the dirt. Or if you don’t have stubborn stains, simply apply the mixture with a soft, damp sponge that you use to clean the tiles and the bathroom.
Scrub the areas and rinse with water. If you want a deeper cleaning, repeat the process once more where there is still a little bit of grime, hard water stains or mold.
Use this trick to keep your tiles clean longer
Once all the stains have been removed and the tile grout is perfectly clean, you might want to save yourself the trouble of washing them again. There is something you can do. Mix a 1:1 solution of water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Make sure you label it so you don’t get them confused. After showing, spray the tiles with this solution. You don’t have to do it every day; 2-3 times a week will make a big difference. You will see for yourself the next time you clean.
